Wage assignment (also known as Wage with
The court order that requires the employer of a non-custodial parent to deduct a specific amount of money for child support from that parent's paychecks. See also "Garnishment."
Waiver
A written document that relinquishes a person's rights.
Waiver of counsel
A document whereby a party surrenders his or her right to have an attorney review and sign certain papers on his or her behalf.
Witness
A person with knowledge of facts or information pertaining to the proceeding's specific situation.
Writ of execution (also known as a Levy)
This court order authorizes the seizure of a non-custodial parent's asset when that parent owes past-due child support. Usually, the total assets allowed to be taken under the order is equal to the full amount of delinquent child support owed under the divorce judgment.
